Jennifer's professional journey started in her native Mexico City and spans more than 15 years creating and launching communications programs that elevate brands, organizations and individuals across different platforms – with an emphasis on cross-cultural strategies.
After relocating to Los Angeles in 2000, she built a successful public relations career on the agency side — most recently as USH/LATAM group director at global agency Citizen Relations; and earlier as vice president of Consumer Strategies at VPE PR, and as Diversity Communications director for PainePR.
Her experience with some of the world’s top consumer brands like Procter & Gamble, Sony Electronics, General Motors, and McDonald’s includes award-winning communications campaigns; content development for traditional and emerging media; spokesperson training; media relations; and special events design and execution.
As an accomplished media trainer, she has prepared dozens of executives from different industries in the U.S. and Mexico to conduct successful media interviews – in both English and Spanish.
She has also led social marketing initiatives for multicultural audiences on behalf of organizations like The Televisa Foundation (Mexico), California Department of Public Health, the California Student Aid Commission, the California Coalition Against Sexual Assault, and the Southern California Earthquake Center.
Jennifer has post-graduate studies in journalism, publicity and talent representation in agency PR, and holds a BA degree in communications and public relations from Universidad Latinoamericana in Mexico City, where she started her career working as a journalist for a local magazine almost two decades ago.
She launched Elevate Relations in 2014 to help elevate clients’ relations with key audiences through strategic thinking, creative campaign planning and first-class execution – all while juggling life in California as a single mom to daughter June and their pup, Rudy.
